Mr. Sagara
Mr. Tomohide Sagara, Chairman
Sagara Metro Plastics Industrial Corporation (SMPIC) was established in 1989. SMPIC is a joint-venture between Sagara Plastics Industrial Company Limited (SPIC) of Japan, one of Japan's largest plastic products manufacturers, and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank), one of the Philippines' leading universal banks.

Situated on a 3-hectare property in Calamba, Laguna near the South Luzon Expressway, the SMPIC plant was formally inaugurated on June 5, 1990. Commercial operations began immediately with 18 horizontal injection machines, two extrusion machines and a work force of 163.

Our initial operations focused in producing injection-molded plastic parts and extruded tubings for automotive wiring harness. In 1998, we have started to diversify our operations in producing non-automotive applications like terminal printers. Our latest product line includes medical plastic parts which started 2004.
